All of humanity has an in-built desire to seek out meaning and understanding.  Individuals and societies seek to organise their lives around how they answer these four big questions:

1. Where did I come from?

2. Why am I here?

3. What am I to do?

4. Where am I going?

The first book of the Bible - Genesis - answers these four questions.  Getting the answers to those questions is foundational to understanding the gospel - or good news - of Jesus Christ.  If one's goal were to undermine the necessity for Jesus, it would be wise to start questioning the first book of the Bible - and in particular the first chapters of the first book.  For this reason, it is of no surprise that the most sustain attacks are on the book Genesis - because it is the foundation of the gospel and the Christian worldview.
